Contraceptive and Reproductive Health Service for Harrow

 

The Family Planning and Reproductive Health Service for Harrow provides a range of services including contraception, women's health and psychosexual counselling.  The clinics are able to provide advice and information and a comprehensive range of methods, including emergency contraception.

All services are free of charge

We offer cervical smear tests as part of the national screening programme, and advice and information on a range of womens health issues.

All consultations are confidential

Our doctors and nurses are specially trained in family planning and sexual health. Additionally doctors and nurses work in our clinics as part of their postgraduate training. If you have any enquiries about the service, please telephone Caryl Thomas Clinic on 020 8863 7004.

e offer the following services:

Contraception

  • oral contraceptive pill (Combined Or Progestogen-only pills)
  • injectable (depo-provera)
  • progestogen-only implant (implanon)
  • intrauterine devices (copper IUD or progestogen device (mirena)
  • barrier methods (caps and diaphragms)
  • Condoms
  • emergency contraception (for use within three days (72 hours) of unprotected sex for the pill method or 5 days (120 hours) for the IUD)
  • advice and Information on: Fertility awareness (natural methods), new contraceptives and male and female sterilisation.


Young People's Services (Including Chlamydia screening for 15-24 year olds)

Other sexual health services

  • cervical smear tests as part of the national screening programme.
  • breast awareness
  • information and advice on women's health eg the menopause
  • psychosexual counselling (will need a referral)
