Exercise on Referral introduces people to the benefits of physical activity. The scheme allows people to be referred to an exercise specialist at a local leisure facility, where a tailored exercise programme will be devised for them. If you are eligible for the scheme, your GP, Physiotherapist or any other health professional can refer you.
Who qualifies for Exercise on Referral?
The scheme is for adults aged 18 years and over who have existing low risk health conditions and are considered to be inactive (not currently participating in at least 30 minutes of moderate activity on 3 or more days of the week). You must be a Harrow resident to access the scheme.
Common Reasons for Referral:
Obese BMI >30,
Overweight BMI >25 plus one other risk factor
Depression or Anxiety (Mild - moderate)
Mild Arthritis in hips or knees

How long is the scheme?
The scheme is a 12-week programme, where you are encouraged to build up your weekly activity levels by attending the supervised group session each week.
What is the cost?
The cost of the scheme is £20 for the 12-week programme which must be paid on your first session.
